Dr. Sandra Gilliland is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice and higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in psychology and counseling, with research focused on emotional intelligence, spiritual formation and student success. As program director, she specializes in trauma-informed care, ethical faith integration and mentoring the next generation of counselors.

Dr. Kristy Burton is a Licensed Professional Counselor, clinical supervisor and director of clinical training with over a decade of experience in counseling and counselor education. Her expertise includes addiction counseling, trauma-informed care and ethical supervision, and she’s been nationally recognized with the 2023 Rosenthal Award and the 2024 Champion Award. Dr. Burton is deeply committed to mentoring students through practicum and internships, preparing them for licensure and meaningful, real-world practice with skill and compassion.
